Guitarist Ireland Launches 2017 Fundraiser

|

Guitarist Ireland is a Facebook Group comprising of over 8,000 members.

It was established in 2011 by Danny Carthy who wanted to connect Irish guitarists at home and abroad and of course those who have made Ireland their home.

As the group has grown, it has become the go- to site for both young and established guitarists when looking for advice on products, set up issues and general guitar talk. We encourage our members to share their videos and opinions- and we can state with some confidence that Guitarist Ireland has a positive effect on product sales!

Our ever popular video series ; #GITips features  an abundance of advice, from set ups to licks and tricks. We value our younger lads and lassies as highly as our established pros – so we try to cover all the bases!

In the spirit of musicianship we like to give something back to the community each year. To that end we run an annual Christmas fundraiser for a children’s charity. This year our members have elected to continue to support the Children’s Medical Research Foundation. CMRF is associated with Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Dublin. They work closely with GOSH and other international research children’s hospitals globally. Our fund directly contributes to the diagnoses and care of very sick and terminally ill children.

Last year we raised a total of €25,683.96c a massive increase on the previous year!

We did this by having an annual draw, by playing benefit gigs and by selling Guitarist Ireland T Shirts. We have had some terrific support from celebrities whose phone video clips simply ask folk to support the fundraiser. And our media partner Radio Nova created an ad which featured on drive time radio.

The prizes for the annual draw are donated by music stores, distributors and private contributors.

We would be very grateful for any support available from the industry by way of donation for our draw or sponsorship.

If any of our industry buddies would like to contribute a prize, sponsor a banner, or perhaps you have a visiting celeb we can ask for a short video clip?
