The London Drum Show – more exciting acts announced ahead of this weekends show

|

Every drummer dreams of taking the drum riser on a world tour and playing to huge crowds – usually, those kind of gigs are gifted only to a handful of drummers that have the skill required to meet the exacting demands of the top tier of global megastars. Enter two drummers who have the drum throne with two of the world’s best-selling female artists; Joe Clegg (Ellie Goulding) and Adam Marcello (Katy Perry). Adam in association with Roland and Zildjian and Joe in association with Roland, Gretsch and Zildjian will perform together on the LDS Main Stage, aiming to impress with their drumming mastery but also demystifying and breaking down their performances and their hybrid acoustic-electric drum kits, inspiring you to explore where you can go with your drumming and your sound.

We are also pleased to reveal that jazz fusion drummer Anthony ‘Sweetstix’ Lewis will perform on the Masterclass Stage in association with Natal on Saturday 11th November. Having toured the jazz circuit to sharpen and develop his talent before touring the UK with Taio Cruz, and working with a variety of R&B and dance acts, Anthony now holds the drum seat for UK singer Jess Glynne and has toured the world performing at many large festivals, TV shows and other public appearances.

They join R&B legend Aaron Spears, legend of hybrid and electronic-fused pop and dance drumming Andy Gangadeen, Simple Minds powerhouse Mel Gaynor and rock god Jimmy Chamberlin on the Main Stage sponsored by Audix Microphones. There will also be a special Buddy Rich tribute to honour his 100th birthday year with Ian Palmer and Mike Clark, and as Anika Nilles has unfortunately had to pull out due to an injury, there is another Main Stage artist still to be announced.

It’s not only the epic Main Stage acts you have to look forward to, but also the performances across the other LDS stages, informative sessions on techniques, soundproofing, micing up your kit and more, plus check out some vintage drums, our brand new Icons Gallery and loads more! A whole host of brands have also recently been added to the exhibitor list! From fresh, desirable vintage drum equipment from Rusty Drums to UFiP’s truly handmade cymbals, there will be something for everyone in the Gear Hall – and some serious bargains to be had!
