Credit Card surcharges – have you all seen this?

From 13 January 2018 it will be unlawful for any business to add a surcharge for the use of a debit or credit card. This is due to an implementation of an EU directive aimed at increasing transparency and fairness around consumer payments.

However, businesses will still be charged by credit card companies for these card payments. HM Revenue and Customs will no longer accept credit cards after 13 January 2018. Many companies have already decided to only accept debit cards from this point on.
