As we mentioned in the last B2B the MIA achieved amazing media coverage about guitar sales reaching over £110 million in the UK.
There were articles in:The Daily Telegraph, The Times, The Star, The Guardian,The Independent and The Mirror.
Paul McManus Chief Executive featured in TV items about guitar sales on BBC Breakfast News (feature over 5 minutes long with the lead guitarist from the musical ‘We will rock you’, Phil Hilborne), BBC News 24 and Sky News. Plus it was mentioned on the Radio 4 Today programme. The story was also picked up by some local press: meaning this story was seen by over 20million people.
All the broadsheet websites also featured the story along with: NME online, Music Week online, Ilikemusic.com, Albumvot.co.uk.
On his recent trip to Australia Paul also found that the story had been covered in Australia. The Washington Times in the US also featured the story. So we’re spreading the UK music message worldwide!
The MIA’s purpose is to raise the profile of the UK music industry and this was a great example of how, with the right story and a good PR company, PR can provide a wonderful opportunity to inform a large audience (UK and beyond) of the work of the musical instrument industry.
