Guitars on The Beach 2017 to raise money for Music for All charity

Guitars on the Beach is an annual event in Lyme Regis, this year taking place on 17th June. It attracts thousands of guitarists to the picturesque seaside town in Dorset, with the ultimate goal of breaking the record for ‘the world’s largest guitar ensemble’.

The format for the event includes live performances all day and evening, with the record attempt taking place at 5pm. The participants, known as the ‘Sand Band’ will be playing a number of well-known songs, and Mungo Jerry (SONY/ATV) will be leading the Sand Band with his 70’s worldwide hit ‘In the Summertime’ as part of the record attempt.

This year, GOTB will be raising money for the industry charity Music for All, a worthy cause close to all of our hearts, who help give access to music for everyone in society.

Opportunities for distributors and manufacturers to get involved are numerous. While the beach itself will be packed full of guitarists and seagulls, the promenade is set aside for exhibition and promotion. There are a number of stalls and rooms available for brands to show their latest gear, and an opportunity to interact with thousands of guitarists. Sales can be made on the day through GOTB co-organisers Absolute Music.

For those brands that can’t make it on the day, there is still a chance to get involved by way of raffle prize donation. All instruments and equipment donated will be raffled on the day with proceeds going to the charity Music For All.
