Casio’s ‘Action in Music’ initiative: Laura Mvula performs live on Facebook!

MIA member Casio, renowned producer of the multiple award winning Celviano Grand Hybrid Digital Piano (designed in collaboration with C. Bechstein) is excited to announce a Facebook live session with the Ivor Novello award-winning artist Laura Mvula; as part of its ‘Action in Music’ initiative. The exclusive session will be broadcast on London Live’s Facebook Channel tomorrow – Wednesday 5th July at 2pm.

Fronted by Laura Mvula, Casio’s ‘Action in Music’ initiative is a nationwide campaign which aims to shine a spotlight on outstanding music education. The Facebook live session will showcase an interview with Laura followed by a live performance, which will also honour the upcoming Music Teacher of the Year Awards on Friday 7th July, a free activity-filled event for music teachers and the public to attend at the Barbican Centre, London.

Laura will perform on the Celviano Grand Hybrid GP-500 which, as a unique hybrid digital piano combines key elements of an acoustic grand piano, such as the Natural Grand Hammer Action mechanism that follows the travel, recoil and motion of a grand piano, and full-length precision wooden keys – the perfect combination for both new learners and experienced pianists.

As part of their initiative, Casio has been working with schools across the UK – including The BRIT School, the Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts (LIPA), East London Arts and Music (ELAM) and many more- to celebrate the achievements of music teachers nationwide and encourage students to nominate their favourite music teacher for Classic FM’s Music Teacher of the Year Awards with Casio and ABRSM.
