Making noise with the auction of over 500 high quality musical instruments

A comprehensive collection of high quality musical instruments are going up for auction following the announcement that Omega Music, a leading retailer of musical instruments, entered administration.

Property and asset consultancy Sanderson Weatherall has been instructed by Armstrong Watson LLP, the joint administrators of Omega Music (UK) Limited, to offer for sale the instruments located at the companies facility in Brampton, Cumbria.

Robert Wilkinson, partner in Sanderson Weatherall’s auctions team commented, “We’re used to advising our clients on the sale and valuation of a wide variety of assets, but this is the first time we’ve worked on a sale of musical instruments that offers bidders with such variety. The lots really do come in all shapes and sizes and include grand pianos, cellos and guitars as well ukuleles, violins and harmonicas, to name just a few.

“The first time that we went to view the instruments we were really impressed with the quality of the individual lots and expect to receive significant interest from those in the music industry bidding on multiple lots as well as bids from those looking for a great value instrument for personal use.”

The online auction of the instruments concludes from 11am on Thursday 31st May (this Thursday) and viewing is open until 4pm the day before at the site in Brampton, Cumbria. A second sale will follow this first auction and will include a number of brass & woodwind instruments, drums and percussion, amplifiers and studio equipment.
