PPL and PRS for Music – a new joint venture

We recently renewed our license for the radio in the MIA office. We were delighted to find that PPL and PRS for Music, the UK’s two music licensing organisations, have joined forces to make it easier for customers to obtain a single music license for the playing and performance of music in public.

Previously, businesses and organisations had to obtain separate licenses. PPL protects performers and record companies and PRS for Music represents songwriters, composers and music publishers. Now, it’s one contact, one licence and one invoice!

As we all know, purchasing a licence for your business means that the artists you love can continue making the music that we all enjoy – here’s a great video that the two parent companies have put together:

So, whether you’re playing music for your employees or for your customers, obtaining/renewing your license is more straight forward than ever!
