Madness support Music Venue Trust as patrons and with exclusive limited edition lyric t-shirt

Here’s some exciting news from Music Venue Trust, an organisation that the MIA has been championing and supporting since its’ inception…

To celebrate Fightback London, Music Venue Trust is delighted to announce a very special, limited edition t-shirt featuring handwritten lyrics by brand new patrons Madness.

The signature series t-shirt is part of a whole heap of shows, activity and merchandise which forms a central part of Sounds Like London, a month-long celebration of grassroots music venues taking place in the capital this June organised by the Mayor of London.

Speaking about the launch of the t-shirt and their support for Music Venue Trust, Madness said:

We fully support the great work of Music Venue Trust and City Hall to save the heartbeat of London’s vibrant music scene. When we woz young we had lots of venues we could play in and be seen and heard, our fear is that London is losing that. That would be a damn shame for new bands trying to make it.”

Gary Prosser of MVT said:

“Everyone in the team is a huge Madness fan, and we are really grateful to have the band come on board to support the work we are doing. We wanted to find a way that everyone, wherever they are, can support grassroots music venues and the campaign to protect, secure and improve them, and this t-shirt is a great way to do that”.

Fightback London is part of the nationwide campaign taking place this year from Music Venue Trust to get more support and help to grassroots music venues across the country. It is supported by the Mayor of London, Greater London Authority and TicketWeb. Under the banner of Fightback London, more than 30 of London’s grassroots music venues and festivals will be presenting special shows in support of the work of the Trust during June, with a choice of shows every single day at a range of prices. Venues taking part include 100 Club, Dingwalls, Camden Assembly, Omeara, Borderline, Windmill Brixton, The Bedford, New Cross Inn, Dublin Castle and The Lexington.

The limited-edition Madness t-shirt can be purchased exclusively via the Fightback website at
