Vintage Guitars help to make a difference at Chapter Arts, Cardiff

|

Over the first weekend of August, during the Cardiff Eisteddfod, Vintage Guitars joined forces with The Living Room to raise money for the local charity.

The Living Room assists people who are experiencing difficulties with any form of substance abuse or harmful behaviour through dependency; in order to further the excellent work carried out by the charity, Vintage Guitars, in conjunction with A Strings music retailer in Pontypridd, staged a two day guitar event across the weekend of 4th and 5th August, as part of the week-long Eisteddfod.

The first half of proceedings on Saturday 4th August took the form of an open day, with a great selection of Vintage, Fret-King, Bohemian, LAKA and Pilgrim acoustic and electro-acoustic instruments made available for visitors to test out. Following the open day, Saturday evening saw an all-star concert from the cream of the Vintage and Fret-King crop, with key endorsees and signature model owners alike taking to the stage to perform at Chapter Arts, Cardiff. Performing individually and in concert, Gordon Giltrap, John Etheridge, Carrie Martin, Ray Burley and Paul Brett provided the audience with an evening of music and entertainment.

Following the performance, four guitars were hand-signed by their respective signature artistes and then presented by Bryn Fon to Wynford Ellis Owen of Living Room Cardiff, for the instruments to be auctioned off by The Living Room charity. A Vintage Paul Brett 12 string VE8000PB-12, Vintage Paul Brett Viaten VTE800N, Vintage Gordon Giltrap VE2000DLX and a Fret-King John Etheridge FKV3JE were each donated.

On Sunday 5th August, members of the public were giving the chance to meet with the performers from the previous night’s show, with Carrie, John, Gordon, Ray and Paul answering questions and speaking about their collective experiences in the music business.

Vintage and Fret-King guitars are distributed exclusively in the UK and ROI by JHS. For more information about, please visit www.jhs.co.uk
