‘Buying a Musical Instrument – Making the Right Choice’: a guide for your customers

The Music for All Charity, The MIA, and its members have worked together to create ‘Buying a musical instrument – making the right choice’: a brand free, introductory guide to a range of musical instruments, plus some top tips for those starting their musical journeys.

This digital guide is aimed towards beginners. Many of the best known instrument manufacturers and shops have helped us to collate the publication and we are very grateful for their support. We have, however, deliberately kept the book “brand free” in order to leave all the information as impartial as possible and to allow your customers to make informed choices about the instrument they wish to purchase.

Here’s the guide, take a look! Buying a Musical Instrument – Making the Right Choice

As well as a wealth of tips, useful information and guidance, we have included 15 sections: ukulele, the guitar family, piano, portable keyboard, drums, world percussion, music technology, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, flute, bassoon, violin & bowed and the recorder.

We’re happy to offer this free guide to your business. It can be displayed on your website, social media or sent electronically to your customers. This is a great way to encourage beginners to engage with you, and to show that you’re investing in their musical journeys.

Please email alice@mia.org.uk for your copy.

We’d like to thank the following companies for all their help in collating the guide: Howarth of London, Steinberg, Markson Pianos, Stentor, Loch Leven Music Tuition, The Musicians’ Union, Take it Away.
