MIA Member Focusrite Audio Engineering Ltd (Focusrite plc) the UK-based, AIM-listed, leading brand of audio interfaces, has welcomed His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent and distinguished guests to their Buckinghamshire headquarters.
The occasion was the presentation of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation. The Award itself was announced in April 2018 in recognition of the innovations that have enabled the Focusrite Scarlett Range of audio interfaces to help musicians record themselves to a professional standard at an accessible price-point, further removing barriers to creativity.
This is the fourth Queen’s Award to be received by the company, the second for Innovation, the other two acknowledging the outstanding and sustained growth of International sales. The group sells about 85% of its products outside the UK and comprises of the Focusrite, Focusrite Pro, Novation and Ampify brands.
Receiving the Award Citation and commemorative Vase, Founder and Chairman Phil Dudderidge thanked His Royal Highness acknowledging that this award is for all of it’s employees, who contribute not only to the success of the Scarlett Range, but to the company’s overall continued success.
Phil Dudderidge comments: “We’re delighted to receive this award for Scarlett. While the second generation of the Scarlett range provides the user with the best value and feature sets in the market at each price point, we set out to push the boundaries of the USB 2.0 interface performance to deliver the lowest latency possible between the computer and the device. More musicians record their music using a Focusrite Scarlett than any other brand of audio interface.”
The Queen’s Award is the most prestigious award given to both large and small British businesses and is recognised globally.
