Learn to Play Day 2019 – some exciting news!

|

The eighth annual Learn to Play Day weekend is happening on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th March 2019.

Learn to Play Day weekend will once again offer the general public the chance to have a free ‘taster’ lesson on a range of musical instruments.

In 2018, over 100 venues all around the country put on events. We had music shops, orchestras, Churches, rehearsal rooms, community music projects, music services and more… All are very welcome!

Remember; the basic premise it to offer a free, short taster lessons to inspire new and lapsed musicians and welcome them to our wonderful world of music making. You can be as creative as you like with how you do this.

This year, we are stepping it up a notch! We already have 30 venues confirmed, and here’s some exciting news for you:

For LTPD 2019, we are delighted to announce that we have appointed one of the UK’s top marketing agencies, PMW Communications, to help us spread the word about the event and most importantly, help shine a spotlight on your events! In particular, PMW will help us with the PR side of the campaign, working with both the national and regional media across the UK. Established for over 25 years, PMW is no stranger to working on worldwide campaigns for a vast range of clients.

The agency has appointed its PR Director Gemma Hook to spearhead our campaign. As an ACM music degree graduate and singer herself, Gemma is familiar with the music industry – bringing with her over 10 years’ worth of experience working with concert venues, promoters and artists alike. From regional tour PR to West End concerts, Gemma has been privileged to work with stars such as Jools Holland, Paloma Faith, Paul Weller, Rag’n’Bone Man, Jess Glynne, Tom Odell, Stereophonics, Caro Emerald, Gary Barlow, Joe Bonamassa, Cliff Richard, Il Divo, Blake, Russell Watson, and Aled Jones to name but a few.
