Instrument Technician Apprenticeship standard development – request for involvement

Some good news, the Creative Careers Programme funded by DCMS (£2million) has, as one of its strands, the aim to develop 20 new creative apprenticeship standards to grow the opportunities for young people coming into our sector. 3 strands are in music – one of which is an Instrument Technician role. We are writing to you concerning the proposed Instrument Technician Apprenticeship Standard. This could apply to shop or supplier staff.

We are currently identifying employers who would like to get involved in developing it – we would like to invite you to join a Trailblazer group (made up of employers) that would develop the Standard.

The process will be facilitated by Creative & Cultural Skills who are well-used to such work and who will organise meetings, facilitate discussions and development and write the standard. They will be able to provide any further information you may require on commitment and process.

The MIA is working alongside UK Music and CCS in the process and we simply need to know if you would like to be involved at this point.

Please let know if you’re interested in being involved.
