Martin Guitar at the movies!

Westside Distribution, the UK distributor of C.F. Martin guitars have today announced a brand partnership with Universal Pictures surrounding the release of the new movie ‘YESTERDAY’ from Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle and writer Richard Curtis…

Starring Himesh Patel, Lily James and Ed Sheeran, ‘YESTERDAY’ imagines a world where only one man can remember the music of The Beatles and features the Martin CEO-7 in a starring role.

Andy Haldane of Westside Distribution said, “We invited director Danny Boyle and star Himesh Patel to visit Westside M.I. in Denmark Street in March 2018 to select a guitar that suited both the visual style they were looking for, while also ensuring that Himesh had an instrument he truly felt at one with, since much of the music in the film is performed live. Three CEO-7s were ultimately used in the production.”

To celebrate the release of the film in cinemas on June 28th Westside are offering customers of authorized Martin dealers in the UK & Ireland the chance to win their very own CEO-7, worth nearly £3000, as used throughout the film.

Andy continued, “With such a rich heritage of music used in the film we wanted to ensure that dealers and consumers throughout the UK were able to get involved.”

Dealers will soon receive a pack with a desktop/slatwall mounting POS to be displayed prominently. Customers enter by simply taking a photograph of the POS and posting it to their social media profile with the hashtag #martinguitaryesterday. (Entries close on July 31st)

In addition, there has already been a very successful social media competition to win tickets to exclusive private preview screenings of the film in secret locations in Glasgow & London alongside artists and influencers.
