Danelectro launch new 6 string hardtail, vibrato and 12 string electric guitars

Little did Nathan Daniel know when he started to produce electric guitars in the early 1950’s, just how many bona fide rock gods would owe their career move to Danelectro guitars.

Elegantly dressed up to celebrate its 60th Anniversary, the new Danelectro DC59M  6 string electric guitar with the familiar flagship, double cutaway shorthorn body shape, is finished in a gorgeous Deep Blue Metalflake or Silver Metalflake. Features include a 21-fret fingerboard, fully adjustable wraparound bridge, a pair of NOS+ lipstick pickups, 3-way selector switch and stacked volume and tone controls.

But it’s not just the cool looks that have earned Danelectro respect from guitar players and collectors around the world, it’s also the unmistakable sparkly clean jangle of the single coil lipstick pickup that works for a host of styles from surf to country, rockabilly to blues to rock.

For more lipstick output, the new Danelectro DC59X12 12 string electric guitar has a dual lipstick pickup in the bridge position with coil tap facilities offering the classic Danelectro tone at humbucker or single coil volume levels. The deeper voice of a single coil pickup angled at the neck, delivers a warm sweet tone that’ll also please the most hardened jazz player.

Needless to say, the sonic versatility of this stunning 12 string guitar finished in Black, Cream or Dark Red, is immense. With a palm-friendly neck and fingerboard, aluminium nut, low action and fully adjustable chrome die cast bridge, the new Danelectro 59X12 has all the factors of the perfect 12 string guitar, to inspire songwriting creativity from first position chords to soaring solo harmonic runs.

Recent Danelectro 12 string guitars have been described as ‘…possibly the best electric 12 you’ll ever play for the money.’

Also new from Danelectro, is the DG64XT with a modern and authentic adaptation of the classic off-set, reversed double cutaway from the 1950’s. Finished in Black, Vintage Cream and 3 Tone Sunburst, the DG64XT again includes the company’s familiar headstock, allowing straight string pull which, with a precision cut graphite nut, ensures the Wilkinson vibrato bridge system returns to zero pitch every time.

The DG64XT’s hardware and electrics also include a single coil pickup with large housing angled at the neck and a dual humbucking lipstick pickup installed at the opposite angle at the bridge. Controls include a master volume and master tone control with coil tap for the bridge pickup and 3-way selector switch.

Even from a distance, you can’t mistake the art-deco looks and unmistakable vibe of a Danelectro guitar, one of the few guitar brands that can truly be described as legendary, classic, iconic, retro, cool, hip and trendy.
