Flight Ukuleles celebrates Make Music Day with online ‘learn to play’ event

|

Make Music Day is happening this Sunday 21st June, and Slovenia-based Flight Ukulele is celebrating it along with the rest of the world.

Established in France in 1982 as part of the Fête de la Musique, Make Music Day is now celebrated in over 1,000 cities in 120 countries, and takes place each year on the summer solstice (21 June). In previous years, Make Music Day events have taken place in all kinds of unusual public spaces, but this year will look a little different due to the impact of coronavirus, with the day mainly happening online.

As a partner of Make Music Day, Flight will be presenting a programme of online ukulele lessons led by Flight Exclusive Artists, as well as members of the Flight Crew throughout the day:

  • 4pm – Matt U Can Uke
  • 5pm – Ukulele Simon
  • 6pm – Peter Moss
  • 7pm – Elise Ecklund
  • 8pm – Andi and the Ukuleleaves
  • 9pm – Dani Usero

You will be able to find links to these lessons at http://www.makemusicday.org/national-projects/25×12-ukulele/ .  We invite you to join our Flight-sponsored artists as we celebrate Make Music Day together! For more information about Flight Ukuleles, visit www.flightmusic.com.

Flight ukuleles are distributed by Hal Leonard Europe. In support of this year’s Make Music Day, HLE is once again providing sheet music for the classic song ‘Bring Me Sunshine’, which is set to be the ‘anthem’ for the day’s celebrations in the UK. A selection of sheet music arrangements of the song, including one for ukulele, are available for free for Make Music Day participants to use. More details can be found here.
