a platform specifically created for musicians and music industry professionals in the UK

Shufflewire have launched a new web platform, which has been specifically created for musicians and music industry professionals in the UK…

Shufflewire is the brainchild of music video director and digital producer, James Prismall, and Stuart Hardy, a musician and businessman. The pair shared a vision of what the music industry needed and combined their skills and experience to create this platform they tag line as the Complete Music Industry Resource.

Shufflewire is a free-to-access industry directory, built by its users with categories including retailers, manufacturers, products, venues, services, bands, and of course, musicians themselves. Alongside this sits classified advertising, where users can buy and sell used gear, find musicians to join their band, promote upcoming gigs (real or virtual), stream live performances and discover music-industry jobs.

The partners believe the platform will grow into a huge resource for anyone who works in the music industry. The website is completely free to access, free to join and free to post listings, for musicians and the music industry. Once a listing has been approved, you can edit and update them as much as needed. Equipment manufacturers and retailers can create a profile for their business and if they choose, list their products. There is no limit to the amount of listings they can create.

To keep the platform free, it is funded from unobtrusive advertising and also offers optional premium listing plans and time-based promotions for listings, which will be used to further improve the user experience.

A “Live Now” streaming area where users can browse virtual gigs, watch and support performers is the latest addition. Performers can simply create a virtual gig listing, where they can add their live video link as well as a link to where our audience can donate/tip them.

Stuart says “While we were building the site the country was in and out of COVID-19 lockdown. The majority of musicians have not been working or earning a living which has had a knock-on effect for manufacturers and retailer. We have built a platform that brings musicians and the industry together. We hope we can stimulate the sector in some small way.

Elsewhere on Shufflewire, users can discover gear reviews, videos, tutorials, interviews, and stories on their blog. Manufacturers are welcome to send their news and products to be reviewed and/or have a tutorial created for it by an industry expert. There is also the inclusion of Shufflewire Sessions, that James established in 2015 which has grown a significant following, including over a million views on YouTube and more recently started streaming on all popular platforms. Sponsorship opportunities will be available on specific items or parts of the site once more established.

James comments, “For me, Shufflewire originally started as a passion project, working with some of the most talented artists around the UK and allowing those artists to get noticed. Throughout doing these sessions, I’ve worked with some incredible musicians, as well as studios, shops, producers, and music venues which eventually lead to the directory idea. We believe our website will become the place to come for all things music-industry, from our directory to our awesome live sessions that will reach an evergrowing audience.”
