Workplace COVID Testing Update

Businesses of any size, registered in England, can access free workplace testing. The Government have also announced that employers will now be able to offer their employees free, rapid and regular testing that can be taken at home.

As we edge closer to 12th April when non-essential retail is due to re-open in England, it is vital to do everything we can to minimise the risks of further lockdowns and closures. Now is the time to consider how to keep your teams and customers safe, and workplace testing is a key part of this.

In the next major push for the workplace testing programme, the Government have announced that all employers will now be able to offer their employees free, rapid and regular testing that can be taken at home.

The programme is available for businesses with over 10 employees in total (ie not per site)

Home testing kits will be made available free of charge for employers to give to employees who work in areas such as retail stores, where workplace testing is impractical.

To get the kits for free until June 30th, employers are required to register by 12th April, but are strongly encouraged to register as soon as possible.
