Deadline Approaching to get your voice heard on Commercial Rent

Earlier this month, the Government launched a consultation to understand how landlords and tenants are responding to the build-up of rent arrears that has occurred as a result of businesses being unable to trade normally during the pandemic. The Government is particularly interested in the views of small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) including independent businesses and sole traders with leased premises.

Executive Director of the MIA, Anthony Short, commented

“The MIA has been working with the Independent Retail Consortium (IRC) on this matter, and it will be raised as an agenda item with the Minister for Small Business, Paul Scully MP, in the coming weeks. Any input that can be provided from the MI Industry will be very beneficial in reinforcing the importance of this issue when we talk to the Minister next month.”

The link for the consultation is below and the closing date for submission is the 4th May 2021
