Don’t forget our free training offer, related to a topic that is relevant to any store with a tuition offering – whether the teachers are your employees or simply renting space in your store.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and if you have any one-to-one teaching or events with children (defined as under-18) in your store you will want the reassurance that all bases have been covered. Getting this right provides protection for the students, staff and your business.
We are pleased to offer free online safeguarding training and certification, provided by Services to Education, to one person from each MIA member. It’s an opportunity for staff development and for bringing up-to-date knowledge into your business. We’d recommend electing the staff member who is responsible for employing teachers or renting out teaching spaces, as it will help them to have an oversight of the essential basics that can protect everybody. They can then disseminate this information to colleagues, or if you wish additional staff members to benefit directly from the training we can arrange that for £10 per person.
To take advantage of this free training, email Alice (alice@mia.org.uk) and she’ll send you an access code.
If you’re not currently a member of the MIA and would like to start benefitting from the support and community we provide, drop us a line and we’d be delighted to discuss membership with you.
