As part of the renewed drive within the MIA to deliver maximum value and relevance to our members, we are in the process of setting up a Manufacture Community Group. I am excited to have been asked by the board to help set this group up. Having spent the last 25 years in MI manufacturing and 5 years as an MIA Director, I think I understand the unique perspective of a manufacturer in today’s ever-evolving market.
The purpose of this group will be to provide a means to give focus to the particular interests of members with an interest in manufacturing within the context of the wider aims of the MIA.
Initially, I would envisage that we would set up a series of community drop-in events to discuss areas of particular interest to the manufactures. Following this, I would be interested to set up a regular quarterly meeting with interested members to agree on initiatives/actions that the MIA could undertake on the manufacturer’s behalf as part of the overall MIA strategy.
First of all, to help us gather our thoughts, I would really appreciate it if you could spend a couple of minutes answering the questions in the attached survey. I’ve kept things simple (there are only 3 questions!) and I promise we will be using this information in formulating our activity moving forward.

Every Friday at 10am, the MIA’s drop-in sessions give you the opportunity to join with other industry colleagues and discuss the issues affecting you and your business.
This week, Ian Robinson will be joining us to tell you more about how the Manufacture Community will be useful. We’d also welcome your feedback on the things that the MIA should focus its efforts and resources on from a manufacture point of view.
These Zoom sessions are really informal and open to any business operating across the MI sector.
