Event Update: COVID Safety Measures, and 2 Weeks To Go!

|

We’re excited about welcoming you to our event on 23rd September, and we want to bring the industry back together as safely as possible.  We’ve put together some COVID protocols for the event with this in mind.

July 19th was a staging post in the post-pandemic recovery but, as we are all aware, the virus hasn’t magically disappeared and there are a few simple things we can do to make the event as COVID secure as possible.  Our approach has been informed by that taken at the Plasa show, which took place at London Olympia early this week, and by feedback from a cross-section of attendees who have already booked tickets.

We’re taking sensible precautions in setting up the event.  Seating for the panel discussions and keynote speeches will be arranged in rows with spaces of 1m between seats, and the hall will be well ventilated by the air conditioning system.  There will also be sanitisation stations around the venue, and plenty of breaks when you have the option of stepping out for some fresh air.

The basic outline of what we need from you to accept you into the event can be summarised in 3 points:

  • We will ask you to confirm on arrival that you are not suffering any symptoms of COVID, that you haven’t had a positive test in the 10 days before, and that you haven’t, to your best knowledge, come into contact with anyone COVID positive or displaying symptoms within 10 days;
  • Venue staff will take temperature checks upon entry as part of the VSC’s own policy;
  • We will ask to see a valid COVID pass (see information on this here), or evidence of a recent negative Lateral Flow test.

Beyond this, we simply request that you take sensible precautions as you see fit.  There will be no requirement to wear face masks but we would encourage this and a basic respect for social distancing where possible, especially during the networking activities of the day.

We’ve tried to strike a balance with these measures to offer some reassurance without limiting the activities of the day, but if you have any concerns or wish to discuss this at all please send an email to either Alice or Matt.

If you haven’t already booked your tickets there’s only 2 weeks to go, and they’re selling fast!  Secure yours now on our Eventbrite page: www.eventbrite.co.uk/mia-annual-conference-2021-tickets

We look forward to seeing you on 23rd September.
