With the news about the increase in National Insurance contributions and the end of the furlough scheme approaching, we thought it might be a good time to host a drop-in session to answer any HR questions that might be playing on your mind.
From 6 April 2022 to 5 April 2023, National Insurance contributions will increase by 1.25%. This will be spent on the NHS and social care in the UK. This will affect employees, employers, and the self-employed; employees pay NI on their wage, employers also pay extra NI contributions for staff, and the self-employed pay NI on their profits.
At the end of this month, the furlough scheme is ending. You may have questions about bringing furloughed employees back on their pre-furlough terms and conditions, and how to manage your workforce going forward.
At this week’s drop-in session, Nicky Gleadow of The HR Point will be joining us to share her knowledge on both of these areas. Nicky will provide us with an update on the impact of the increase of NI, and she’ll talk about ways you can prepare for the end of the furlough scheme. Nicky will be happy to answer any questions that you might have.
These sessions are really informal and open to any business operating across the MI sector. This week, the drop-in will take place on Thursday 16th September at 11am, rather than the usual Friday slot.
