Blackstar makes its way from the stage into the home

Audio Pro partners with Blackstar Amplification to bring the dynamics and presence of live music to the home.

Swedish speaker manufacturer Audio Pro with an enviable reputation in the field of consumer audio are partnering with British Blackstar Amplification, experts in sound for the professional scene, known for innovation in amplifier design. Their products are used by some of the biggest artists around the world, in all genres of music.

In November 2021, Audio Pro will launch a special Blackstar edition of their successful Drumfire product. The critically-acclaimed Drumfire is already known for being very powerful, with a capacity that far exceeds the footprint of the speaker. The new Blackstar Edition has a look that captures the spirit of live music and amazing sound.

Blackstar is well known for innovation in sound design and creating products that are the ultimate tools for self-expression. The founders all previously worked at Marshall Amplification in R&D and product development, before leaving to create Blackstar in 2007. Since then their products have been used on stage and in the studio by professional musicians around the world as diverse as Carmen Vandenberg (Bones UK, Jeff Beck) and Nicke Borg (Backyard Babies), to Phil Collen (Def Leppard) and Steve Cradock (Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene). Now with the specially-voiced Drumfire Blackstar Edition, the same sound experience will be brought into the home.

Ian Robinson, Blackstar Founder and Managing Director, explains; “When you go to see a live band there’s an anticipation of the experience, the excitement of live sound. We wanted to have a speaker for the home that would create the same expectation and enjoyment. The Drumfire Blackstar Edition is a statement that you’re serious about music.” Paul Hayhoe, Blackstar Founder and Brand Director, adds; “At Blackstar we are all passionate about creating and listening to music, getting ‘the sound in your head’. Nothing else looks like Drumfire and nothing else has the room-filling power and clarity of a Drumfire.”

Jens Henriksen, CCO at Audio Pro, agrees; “We think the connection between Blackstar and Drumfire is solid. The feedback we have received from consumers on Drumfire so far, is that it delivers a massive, rocking sound that no other multiroom speaker is able to.

Still, Drumfire is very affordable with a relatively small footprint. It feels like attending a rock concert right there in your home, when playing the Drumfire. And as Blackstar wants to create a connection between stage and home, it certainly feels like the right choice of product to achieve it with.”

Audio Pro is the company behind many of Marshall’s success stories during the years 2013-2019, with the development and production of products such as Stanmore, Woburn, Kilburn, Acton and Stockwell, so the company is no rookie in the industry. “The fact that Zound Industries, the licensed Marshall manufacturer, chose us to produce these products is perhaps another indication that we also master this category. And Blackstar trusting us with this product is certainly something we are both very happy and proud of,” says Jens Henriksen.
