National Sales Manager – Source Distribution


This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading and highly respected audio industry distributor. Based in North-West London, Source Distribution – a branch of HHB Communications Ltd. – is looking for a National Sales Manager to maximise sales across an existing and growing account network; manage and develop a team of Area Sales Managers; cultivate commercial relationships with key accounts and strategic partners; and identify new markets and action commercial opportunities.

Source Distribution is a prominent distributor of audio technology, musical instruments and consumer electronics products covering a broad range of markets including Music creation, Videography, Pro Audio, Podcasting, Content creation, Gaming and Streaming. Our key brands are RØDE, Genelec, Moog, Arturia, ASM, Eventide and Vicoustic. Each of our retailers is carefully selected on their ability to offer customers high levels of product knowledge, service and support.

As National Sales Manager, you will be office-based with flexible remote working capability. Some travel throughout the UK will be necessary.

Role & Responsibility

  • You will work closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing to devise and deliver a growth strategy that encompasses current and new market sectors to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Implement and monitor a clear sales policy ensuring that the pricing structure is in line with profit margin objectives.
  • Implement and manage target and MDF based retrospective discount programs.
  • Build strong personal relationships with existing and new key accounts. Particularly where there is significant opportunity for growth or significant risk or exposure to the business.
  • Manage and develop a team of three experienced Area Sales Managers, ensuring best use of time management, providing guidance on negotiation and sales best practice, setting strategic goals and supporting the team to achieve targets, leading monthly meetings, and identifying and implementing relevant training needs.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Must have a credible understanding of the consumer electronics and/or music technology marketplace as well as experience in running multi-sector sales channels via both resellers and distribution.
  • Will have a demonstratable and proven track record in sales and key account management, working to and achieving sales targets.
  • Will have experience in managing and motivating a team of regional sales managers using KPIs.
  • Must have successfully managed MDF and target-based rebate schemes.
  • We are looking for a strategic thinking, dynamic and effective sales professional with an in-depth understanding of commerce and finance to understand business performance and to reach long term goals. This should encompass a holistic approach to business needs.
