Denis Wick Products announces Black Dykes Matthew Routley as its first new artist in 2023

Denis Wick Products are delighted to announce the appointment of Black Dykes star Bb Bass player Matthew Routley as its new Bb Bass Artist. Matthew has played with the Queensbury Band since 1995 and is viewed as one of the best Bb bass players in the business. Matthew stated “I have played on Denis Wick mutes for many years. In terms of mouthpieces, I have always been really happy with the existing mouthpiece I play on, but the new Denis Wick Ultra range really impressed me and convinced me to make a change”

There have been a number of new tuba artist appointments during the back end of 2022 at Denis Wick Products with artists playing on the well known the classic range but also increasingly the heritage and ultra range of mouthpieces.

Brett Baker the Marketing Lead and Global Artist Liaison for the company commented “I am delighted that Matthew Routley has been able to join us. He is a wonderful player and very experienced in terms of development work. We now have a number of bass trombone and tuba artists that have come on board recently that are impressed by the current range but are also excited about being involved in future developments that are taking place. Our close association with artists is vital for the company to continuously improve our high-quality products at affordable prices. Aaron Tindall from the USA has worked extensively with Denis Wick Ultra range to create targeted mouthpieces for a variety of tubas and situations for instance the AT2UY is perfect for Bb Bass players and CC Bass players whilst the AT4UY and AT6UY works really well for those playing Eb Bass. The rim size remains the same with each size to allow tuba players to move between instruments with the confidence that the mouthpiece will feel the same.”
