The benefits of becoming an Authorised Economic Operator

The International Trade Institute are hosting a short webinar this week specifically about becoming an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) – what is AEO, how to apply for AEO, and what are the benefits for your business.

AEO status is an internationally recognised quality mark that shows your business’s role in the international supply chain is secure, and has customs control procedures that meet Authorised Economic Operator standards and criteria.

You will hear from Irish Customs Authority specialist Paul Hearty on the process for applying for AEO and the benefits of gaining this trader recognition.  Paul has over 35 years experience in Customs and currently manages and oversees the implementation of the AEO programme in Ireland.

John O’Driscoll, Customs and International Trade Manager at Intel will share his experience with AEO and give us an insight into the benefits he has seen from a trader’s point of view.  John has 35 years of international experience in Customs from 1988-2023.  He is a specialist in EU customs, licencing, and related law and practice. He has good knowledge of US and China law and practice in these spheres. Manufacturing systems.  Specialties include valuation, origin, classification, export and import licence controls, all suspensory/relief schemes, and modernisation projects.
