Ant (our Executive Director) and Alice (our General Manager) sit on the Steering Group for Greening Music Tech; an initiative launched into 2022 to help companies in the Music Technology sector reduce their CO2e emissions and run more environmentally sustainable businesses.
Greening Music Tech aims to up-skill individuals by sharing relevant development resources, and creating a space for people to ask questions and share best practice. This initiative is in its infancy at the moment, and it’s aimed at Music Tech Manufacturers, both Hardware and Software.
It has got us thinking… Brands are increasingly keen to respond to pressure from stakeholders to reduce their carbon footprint and adopt more sustainable practices. Governments are also beginning to introduce legislation to meet their coalition commitments, which might mean you are asked to provide supporting information when selling into music education for example.
This week on Thursday 9th Feb at 2pm, join us for a zoom drop-in to discuss how the MIA and musical instrument manufacturers can work on this together, and set up a networking group that shares ideas and improves sustainability practice in UK MI. It could also prove to be a great forum to share Government information around this topic.
These sessions are really informal and open to anyone working in our space.
