Reverb sellers see continued demand

Reverb sellers see continued demand for competitively-priced music gear

Reverb, the largest online marketplace dedicated to buying and selling musical instruments, announced that sellers saw continued demand in Q2 from Reverb’s global community of millions of music makers. In particular, budget-conscious music makers continued to seek out used, like-new, and other competitively-priced musical instruments.

Buyers are increasingly interested in used music gear, turning to Reverb’s community of sellers to find pre-loved gear at budget-friendly prices. Like-new instruments—which includes b-stock, demo, and refurbished music gear—also remain popular, with sales for like-new gear up nearly 18% in Q2 compared to the same quarter last year. Through marketing campaigns and continued improvements to the marketplace, Reverb helped deal-seeking music makers connect with sellers offering inventory that fit within their budgets.

“Musicians are still buying plenty of music gear, but it’s no secret that they’ve been tightening their wallets. Offering used and like-new inventory, offering budget-friendly prices and being open to offers are all great ways to connect with buyers looking for competitively-priced instruments,” said Mark Anzelc, Reverb’s Sales Director.

In the first half of 2023, sellers’ sales from offers were up 43% compared to the previous six months. In Q2, Reverb made several improvements to the offers process, including making it easier for sellers to  engage one on one with budget-conscious buyers that have shown interest in their gear. The Reverb team also made updates to its Favorites feature, which allows buyers to save searches, shops, and music gear to their Watch List. It’s now even easier for buyers to purchase gear that they’ve added to their Watch List.
