Role and Responsibilities:
The General Manager is responsible for the overall commercial and operational success of the store.
- Drive the in-store revenue and commercial performance of the site through outstanding sales and customer service in person, over the phone and via email
- Engage, excite, challenge and inspire a team of circa 12 staff
- Deliver exceptional visual merchandising which is both visually appealing and commercially astute
- Meet store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employee rotas
- Oversee the recruitment, selection and training of new store staff
- Plan, monitor and develop staff roles and responsibilities, effectiveness and efficiency by coaching, counselling, training and disciplining employees
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce operational and personnel policies, procedures and best practice
- Drive the success of company initiatives and system improvements as they are rolled out
- Identify and strengthen current and future customer relationships
- Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control
- Ensure safety, security and compliance of the site
- Develop a schedule of activities and promotions throughout the year strategically designed to drive footfall and revenue, working with GG marketing team
- Control budgets and costs; manage and minimise controllable costs to ensure profitability
