Job Description:

We are looking for a talented and experienced violin repairer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of violin construction and repair techniques, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of violin repairs, including tune-ups, adjustments, bridge repairs, soundpost repairs, neck resets, pegbox repairs, crack repairs, and varnish repairs. Instruments range from intermediate to professional.
  • Restore older violins to their original condition.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support.
  • Work closely with other members of the team to ensure that all repairs are completed to the highest standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in violin repair. Graduation from a recognised violin-making school or photographic and documentary evidence of a sustained period of study of four years or more with an acknowledged workshop of repute.
  • Strong understanding of violin construction and repair techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to play violin, viola, or cello an advantage.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English at least equivalent to a Common European. Framework of Reference (CEFR) B1 preliminary level.
