An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join the Premier Drums team at Gear4music. You will be instrumental in driving the growth of our distribution and dealership network, develop and implement sales strategies, and support the expansion of our House Brands’ distribution channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies focused on driving distributor sales and expanding our international distribution network leveraging your existing industry contacts and expertise.
  • Sales Targets: Set and achieve ambitious sales targets for distributors, ensuring growth and profitability in line with company objectives.
  • Sales Forecasting: Utilise market knowledge and distributor relationships to accurately forecast future sales, particularly for new product development, ensuring alignment with market demands and trends.
  • Market Expansion: Proactively identify and contact potential new distributors, conducting thorough market research and analysis to identify strategic opportunities for expansion.
  • Growth Opportunities: Consider opportunities to grow and develop distribution for all other Gear4music House Brand products.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing distributors, providing support, knowledge, and resources to optimise sales performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with distributors, internal teams, and senior management, providing regular updates and reports on sales performance, market trends, and distributor network expansion efforts.
  • Market Analysis: Analyse specific market trends, competitor activities, and distributor feedback to inform strategic decision-making and identify areas for improvement or adjustment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the musical instruments market and industry dynamics to effectively position our brand and products and drive sales growth.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with distributors, ensuring favourable terms and conditions that support long-term partnerships and mutual success.
  • Order Management: Place and manage distributor orders with factories, including paperwork handling, ensuring correct pricing, lead times, and payments.
  • System Updates: Process orders and update internal systems.
  • Payment Coordination: Work with accounts to organise distributor and factory payments.
  • Innovation: Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry best practices, and market developments to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge in the musical instruments market.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in international business development, sales, or a related field, within the musical instruments industry.
  • Well-established contacts and strong relationships with key global stakeholders in the musical instruments industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales strategies, market analysis, and contract negotiation.
  • Specialised in tracking and analysing key sales data.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • A strong passion for music, with a focus on drums and experience with marching, orchestral, and educational musical instruments, is highly beneficial.
