The Korg Gallery Opens at The Musical Museum – Launch Event!

Korg UK and The Musical Museum are thrilled to announce the grand opening of the Korg Gallery on 17th September. A permanent exhibition dedicated to celebrating the evolution of modern music creation, this unique gallery showcases the incredible history of Korg, one of the most influential names in music technology, and offers an immersive journey through decades of sonic innovation.

A highlight of the launch event will be the first UK appearance of the highly anticipated PS- 3300 reissue, a recreation of one of the rarest and most coveted synthesizers ever made, and first previewed at NAMM earlier this year. Attendees will also get an exclusive look at the eagerly awaited microKORG 2, which adds powerful new features including a large colour display and a completely re-designed sound engine to one of the most iconic and recognizable synths ever.

There will be live performances throughout the day, with Brand Ambassador, Luke Edwards on hand to guide visitors through the history and features of Korg’s most recognisable synths, providing demonstrations, answering questions, and helping explore the unique sounds and capabilities of each instrument.

Founded in 1962, Korg’s origins began with the creation of the DoncaMatic rhythm unit, and proceeded on to revolutionise the world of electronic music, shaping the soundtracks of our lives. Visitors can explore an impressive collection of over fifty classic and contemporary instruments, including Japan’s first mass-produced synthesizer and some of the globally best-selling synths and music workstations of all time.

Visitors to the Museum’s new Korg Gallery will have the opportunity to discover the history and technology behind their favourite musicians and music; learning how electronic music continues to evolve today. Whether it’s the displays of the earliest mass-produced synthesizers, or the interactive area where visitors can go “hands on” to create their own sounds, there’s something for visitors of all backgrounds, interests and ages to enjoy as they explore the technology that continues to shape the future of music.

Join us on 17th September for the grand opening. Entry is free and doors open at 10am.
