We’re seeking a dynamic Head of Percussion to join our award-winning team and lead the growth of our world-renowned drum brands. As a visionary leader, you’ll oversee all aspects of our percussion business, including managing the sales team and driving strategic growth.

This leadership role presents a unique and exciting opportunity. As the head of our percussion business, you’ll oversee all aspects of the operation, from marketing and brand management to purchasing and strategic planning. You’ll have the opportunity to work with iconic brands like Mapex drums, Vater Percussion, and Paiste Cymbals & Gongs, guiding their future growth and success in the UK. Your strategic vision and leadership will be instrumental in driving the overall performance of our percussion division.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Management: Oversee the daily management and strategic development of our percussion brands, including Vater, Paiste, Mapex and Sakae.

Market Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the UK percussion industry and the competitive landscape.

Sales and Purchasing: Leverage your experience in both sales and purchasing to drive revenue and optimise costs.

Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop innovative and engaging campaigns that resonate with drummers, percussionists, and sound therapists of all playing levels.

Brand Development: Foster the growth and relevance of our percussion brands, ensuring they remain at the forefront of the industry.

Team Leadership: Mentor and inspire your team to achieve exceptional results.

Skills and Experience:

We’re seeking a highly qualified Head of Percussion to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the UK percussion market and have a proven track record in product management, sales and purchase planning, and marketing.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Deep Understanding of the Percussion Industry: Proven expertise in the UK percussion market, including knowledge of key players, trends, and customer preferences.

Product Management Expertise: Demonstrated experience in managing product lifecycles, from development to end-of-life, with a focus on optimising performance and profitability.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies that drive growth and enhance brand positioning.

Market Analysis: Proven skills in conducting market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.

Sales Acumen: Proven experience in driving revenue growth and optimising costs within a sales-oriented environment.

Purchasing Expertise: Strong understanding of purchasing processes and the ability to manage stocks effectively.

Supply Chain Management: Strong understanding of supply chain principles and the ability to manage a complex network of suppliers and distributors.

Marketing and Brand Management: Experience in collaborating with marketing teams to develop and execute effective campaigns, build strong brand identities, and establish strategic partnerships.

Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

 Desired Skills and Experience:

Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial metrics and the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.

Project Management: Experience in managing complex projects and ensuring timely delivery of results.

Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers, customers, and partners.

Experience leading organisational change and adapting to evolving market conditions.

Location:

The role is based at our head office in Milton Keynes where there is flexibility to work from home. We require a minimum of two days per week in the office to facilitate collaboration and team building.

Hours:

This is a full-time position with standard working hours of 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break. As a dynamic role, occasional flexibility may be required to meet business demands.

Salary:

Salary will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
