Legendary Historic Guitar Brand Stromberg® Returns to the Stage

Iconic and historic guitar brand ‘Stromberg’ is making a grand return under new ownership, reviving its historic legacy with handcrafted guitars built exclusively in Europe.

Founded in the early 20th century and famed for its Master 400 and Master 300 archtops, Stromberg guitars earned their place in music history with artists like Count Basie’s Freddie Green and Duke Ellington’s Fred Guy. Despite ceasing production in the 1950s, Stromberg’s reputation endured, these highly collectable and valuable models.

Now, Aurora Music Works of Switzerland (AMW) is leading Stromberg’s revival. Under the leadership of industry veteran Tim Lobley, AMW will unveil limited Masterbuilt reproductions of the iconic Master 300 and 400, crafted with meticulous detail to preserve their legendary sound and design.

Contemporary additions include the modern ‘Hanover Street’ series, featuring:

  • Monterey and Fremont thinline semi-acoustics, equipped with UK manufactured Cream T® humbucker
    pickups.
  • Montreux and Newport full-depth electro jazz boxes, for a twist on classic Stromberg arch top designs with
‘Amber’ floating pickups and stunning figured woods.

“We’re proud to honour Stromberg’s legacy and reimagine the brand for today’s players,” said Tim Lobley,
AMW founder. “These instruments represent the finest craftsmanship and the heritage of a brand loved by
generations.”

Catch Stromberg guitars at NAMM 2025, Anaheim Convention Centre, booth 5432, January 23-25.
