Piano Day 2025 is coming up on March 29th, a day dedicated to celebrating the continued importance, beauty and versatility of the piano. Whether you’re a performer, tutor, or just a keen listener, Piano Day 2025 is a great time to get immersed in all things piano-related!
But why March 29th, you might ask? Well, the date is chosen because it’s the 88th day of the year, and since the piano has 88 keys, it’s the perfect symbolic date to celebrate!
Established in 2015 by German pianist and composer, Nils Frahm, 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Piano Day. With a diverse array of events scheduled worldwide, from virtuoso performances in concert halls to street performances and even open piano sessions at prestigious locations, Piano Day really does invite the whole community together to enjoy the magic of the piano.
So how can use the day to focus your marketing output for the next few weeks? It’s a great occasion to really hyper-focus on the piano playing demographic, creating social campaigns, posting blogs and promoting offers, and you could get a lift by piggy-backing on other events and hashtags that are already highlighting the day. Do you have any events, performances or instore opportunities that you promote to those audiences?
As an example Casio Music will be focusing on how their range is designed for players of all ages and abilities, allowing anybody to engage in the piano whether they are just starting out, a seasoned pro or returning to the instrument after a break. They have put together a campaign to deliver that message using specific examples from the portfolio.
Forsyths of Manchester have a street piano outside the front of the shop and are planning to encourage people to proactively take part in a live stream of performances on the 29th to mark the day. Emma Loat of Forsyths confirmed that the piano is one of 16 that make up the Piano Trail in Manchester, and they will be leveraging activity around that campaign (as well as the upcoming Manchester Jazz Festival) to maximise the reach of Piano Day in the local community.
