Britannia Row Productions offers apprenticeships which will fast-track you into a professional freelance career working as live sound technician for the world’s largest and most successful live sound production company. The apprenticeship will qualify you to work on our global music tours, major sporting events, corporate events, special events and music festivals. Previous apprentices have worked on tours with Genesis, Dua Lipa, Foo Fighters, Harry Style, Pink, MTV EMA Music Awards, Two Door Cinema Club and the Brit Awards to name but a few! Live Sound Technicians are responsible for the technical preparation and set up of audio equipment at the event venue. This apprenticeship will give you the knowledge and skills to maintain, transport, set up and operate complex audio systems for events requiring live sound.
For over 45 years, Britannia Row Productions has been a dynamic world class audio rental company supplying high end audio equipment with skilled audio engineers and technicians that continues to innovate and grow. In 2017 we became part of the US based Clair Global group of companies thereby extending our global reach and client list.
What will you be doing?
On our Live Sound Apprenticeship, you will be working in our impressive warehouse stocked with state of the art audio equipment and technologies. You will work alongside highly skilled audio technicians and freelance sound engineers and learn to prepare and maintain our full range of equipment. You will rotate through our specialised departments, including Technical, Speakers and Rigging, RF and Comms, Cables and Mains & Prep and De-prep. You will become familiar with all the elements of a bespoke sound system and its preparation for use at venues. You will also learn how to professionally load and unload equipment onto trucks and assist in keeping the Warehouse safe, tidy and organised.
What training?
Apprentices will follow an intense, fast-paced 2 yearlong work & training programme. You will benefit from on- the-job training in our busy warehouse, online and classroom-based learning, as well as training at event venues. Our bespoke online learning consists of two modules; live Sound Fundamentals (LSF) and Live Sound Intermediate(LSI) managed by Britannia Row Productions Training. Our online training is available to non-Britannia Row Productions employees at a cost of £4000.00 but is included free as part of our Apprenticeship programme.

An apprenticeship at Britannia Row Productions is not easy. A full commitment to working hard and learning fast is required to be successful. On completion of the Apprenticeship you will be awarded a certificate which is widely recognised by the industry. Britannia Row Productions apprenticeship scheme is not national government scheme.
What are the expected career opportunities?
Successful and committed graduates of our apprenticeship scheme have moved on to become System Technicians, Stage Technicians, RF & Comms Technicians, Monitor Techs, Front of House Techs and System Engineers.
Who?
We are looking for hard working people with a passion for live sound technology. Self-motivated individuals with a positive “can-do” attitude, an engaging personality with the ability to successfully interact and communicate with others in a team. Individuals with a passion for technical work and a technical brain alongside a commitment to learning. Experience in practical hands on work is desirable.
Previous experience of working at live events is essential.
Applicants should hold a minimum of either “A” level or B-tech Level 3 qualifications in Audio Technology, Electronics, Mathematics, I.T, Physics or equivalent. A degree is desirable.
When and Where?
Our next Apprenticeship Programme will start between 4th July and 11th July 2022 and is based in our Warehouse in Twickenham, London.

Apprenticeship Summary
Expected Duration: Two years
Start date: Monday 4th July 2022
End date: Friday 30th June 2024
Working Hours: 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday plus overtime
Annual Wage: £20,110 per annum
Overtime: Paid at single rate, including weekends

23 days’ holiday per annum plus 8 days’ bank holiday (pro rata in 2022)
