LAVA Music launch Ultra-Thin ME AIR carbon fibre electro-acoustic SMART guitar with built-in effects.
The new LAVA ME Air retains the originality and performance benefits of the popular LAVA Series of electro-acoustic Smart guitars, now with the flagship carbon fibre futuristic soft-line body profile slimmed to a 36in ¾ size, with an ultra thin 7.5cm depth.
Functionality has also been streamlined and simplified with a trio of multi-functional push button digital rotary controls, sited on the top of the higher bout to navigate and customise 5 studio grade preset effects and blend with LAVA’s new Freeboost magnetic pickup system.
Available in an appealing all-over Space Black or Silver, the ME AIR looks stunning with colour matched hardware which includes smooth operative machine heads, flip-up trussrod cap, controls and strap locks. With a HPL fingerboard and bridge and a 23in (58.42cm) scale, the ME AIR responds to the touch with incredible nuance, superb sustain and dynamics.
As a standalone acoustic guitar played dry, with its upgraded internal bionic honeycombed bracing, the ME Air delivers rhythmic chords, fingerpicking and lead lines with exceptional clarity and a balanced, size-defying volume, whilst it’s the ingenious development within built-in Smart sound technology where LAVA Music has once again re-invented the whole concept of learning, practicing, recording and performing with a guitar.
A subtle ‘power on’ light situated within the pickup installed at the end of the fretboard, indicates the ME Air is active. With the main control changing colour to indicate the chosen preset and volume, the two remaining rotaries operate Depth, Repeat, Solo/Mix and individual parameters of each preset, all of which can be customised onboard or via the LAVA Plus Bluetooth app, where musicians can dive in and tweak the presets and learn about LAVA’s inspirational technology within, amongst others, looping and recording music.
The aptly named ME AIR, with its temperature resisting carbon fibre composite Airsonic back/sides, SuperAirsonic top and AirSonic 2 neck, weighs less than 4 lbs (approx 1.8 kilos), and operates nonstop for up to 20 hours from a 3 hour USB charge.
