Maintaining Small Business Rate Relief and Retail, Hospitality & Leisure Relief
We have been working with the Independent Retailers Consortium (IRC) on the topic of Business Rate Relief for small retailers. The IRC is a collection of trade associations similar to the MIA, in that they all represent a body of independent retailers across a variety of sectors.
One result of this work has been the submission of a co-signed letter to The Rt Hon Rachel Reeves MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer, with the joint ask of maintaining current levels of rate relief in the upcoming budget.
To help us determine exactly how best to represent MI retailers, we could do with understanding which of the current reliefs on offer are relevant to your business. As such, could you please click on the below button and answer the one question survey.
There is some concern amongst commentators that the current levels of support, in particular the Retail, Hospitality & Leisure Relief, may be reduced or even abolished in the upcoming Autumn Statement. We would also be very keen to hear from members as to what planning they have done to mitigate against such an outcome.
