Denis Wick Products Limited mourns the loss of its founder Denis Wick, who passed away on Wednesday 12th February 2025 at the age of 93. His visionary contributions transformed the world of modern brass playing with unparalleled dedication to innovation, craftsmanship, and musical excellence shaped not only the products that bear his name but also the way brass musicians approach their sound.
Denis Wick’s impact on the music industry extends far beyond his distinguished career as principal trombonist of the London Symphony Orchestra, teacher, arranger, conductor, and author. Recognising the need for superior mouthpieces and mutes, he founded Denis Wick Products Limited in 1968, a British company that has become a benchmark for quality and innovation in brass instrument accessories selling over 2.5 million products worldwide and employing twenty-five staff at its manufacturing facility in Poole, England.
His deep understanding of brass playing and acoustics allowed him to create equipment that meets the highest standards of musicianship, helping players at all levels achieve their best possible sound.
With much gratitude for Denis’ contributions to the music industry, we invite friends and colleagues to visit deniswick.com to engage with memories, performances, and the continuing legacy that Denis Wick leaves for all brass musicians.
Anyone who would like to submit personal messages of condolence for the family can email remember@deniswick.com – the Company will share further details of memorial events in due course.
