Trevor Austin, the founder of Rosehill Instruments, and former MIA member, died on Tuesday 24 June. He was surrounded by his loving family: his wife Christine, her daughter Kirsty, and his sons Mark and Paul.
Trevor founded his musical instrument business in 1967 and opened the well-known showroom in Beaconsfield in 1975, followed by music shops in several locations around the UK.
Trevor played euphonium in the Royal Horse Guards from 1948 to 1953—including at Her Majesty The Queen’s coronation—and was a proud member of the Rosehill Band of the Salvation Army from 1946 to 1951, later seeking permission to use the name for his new business venture.
Through the decades, Trevor’s endless enthusiasm created wonderful opportunities for other musicians, inspiring many to learn an instrument and perform in public.
He also dedicated much of his time to his charity, the Rosehill Mission. If you’d like to support his cause, you can visit here.
Any donations in his name would be most welcome.
