On March 9, Music for All marked a significant milestone with a special event at the House of Lords, hosted by The Lord Bichard KCB, bringing together industry leaders, policy makers, Lords, MPs and partners to reflect on the charity’s impact to date and ambitions for the future.
For 30 years, Music for All has worked tirelessly to address structural barriers to music-making for individuals and community groups facing economic, health and cultural challenges. Operating without government or lottery funding, the charity is sustained entirely through individual and philanthropic donations, as well as collaborative partnerships and sector support.
Demand for support from Music for All’s support has never been greater. 65% of current applicants to Music for All awards programmes are from the most deprived communities in the UK. Despite reaching approximately 17,000 beneficiaries each year, we are able to support just 11% of applications received.
For industry leaders, this presents both a clear challenge and an opportunity.
Partnering with Music for All enables your organisation to deliver measurable, meaningful impact:
- Expand access to inclusive music education in underfunded schools
- Enable access to music making for adults facing disability or health barriers
- Strengthen grassroots music making across disadvantaged communities
There are clear and flexible ways to engage with the charity:
- Sponsor an established projects such as Learn to Play or an award which could be targeted to a specific area of need or disadvantage
- Fund targeted projects aligned with your brand values and priorities
- Donate instruments or equipment directly to support beneficiaries
Collaboration across the sector will be critical to unlocking the next phase of impact for the charity. Join fellow industry leaders from Gear4Music, Hal Leonard, Orange Amps and PBone To explore partnership opportunities get in touch: help@musicforall.org.uk
