Learn To Play '23

Learn To Play 2023 event banner

Learn To Play is a free national 2-day event organised by the Music for All charity. This event offers budding and lapsed music makers a fantastic opportunity to play an instrument and receive a free music lesson, regardless of ability.

Music for All’s flagship event Learn to Play is back on 7th & 8th October 2023!  Venues across the UK will be offering free 10-15 minute taster music lessons to anyone wanting to pick up an instrument for the first time or return to making music.  Look out for the new series of tutorial videos being released on YouTube in the months leading up to October and watch out for the growing map of participating venues being launched by the end of June.

We’re really looking forward to working with Music for All on their annual flagship event again this year and hope we can have even more venues to spread the joy of making music.

If you think your business would make a good venue for Learn to Play, here’s some more information:

Becoming a Learn to Play venue is a fantastic opportunity to:

  • Welcome new visitors to your venue
  • Raise the profile of your business/organisation
  • Join an inspiring community advocating the life changing benefits of learning an instrument!

How Do I Become a Learn to Play Venue?

You need three things to be a venue host – teaching resources, instruments and a venue.

The number of music lessons, instruments offered, and location is entirely up to you! We encourage everyone to host Learn to Play in a way that suits you and your resources. Whether you’re an independent guitar teacher with a home studio and one spare guitar, or a music store with connections to lots of music teachers with a whole shop of different instruments, if you’re up for opening your doors to offer free taster lessons, then welcome aboard! Register here.

How Do Music for All Support?

Guidance and Advice – When you register, you will be sent an exclusive link to the LTP Venue Information page where you can find a whole host of hints, tips and resources to help plan your event. We’re also here to answer any questions you have along the way.

Participant Engagement – We use our social media platforms and arrange PR coverage to let as many people know about Learn to Play as possible! We literally put your venue on the map (see below!) to help members of the public find your venue.
