The Sound Post Ltd is a specialist UK trade distributor of bowed string instruments, bows, strings and accessories, founded in London in 1993 by professional cellist Stephen Jocelyn. Now based in Warminster, Wiltshire, the company supplies the UK music retail sector and also distributes internationally, focusing exclusively on the violin family — violin, viola, cello and double bass — and the specialist products that support these instruments. Its portfolio includes its own Primavera, Westbury and Heritage ranges alongside instruments from Eastman Strings and Wessex, with an extensive accessory catalogue covering bows, cases, strings, bridges, fittings, rosins, shoulder rests and amplification.
The Sound Post also represents a number of specialist international brands as exclusive UK distributor, including Larsen Strings, BAM Cases, Despiau bridges and Arcus and Müsing bows.
